Mateo Mountain Climb 5190m. Located in the Cordillera Blanca - within contrahierbas group. probably one of the most easiest summit only in one full day. Perfect climb for beginners who has not experience in the climbing, it can be for acclimatization then everybody is ready to challenge another big mountains or for people who does not have enough time. from the Mateo summit provides the best spectacular views of Huascaran the highest peak in Peru, Chopicalqui, Chacraraju, Ulta, Hualcan the gama of the contrahierbas.

To climb Mateo Mountain is easy access, from Huaraz drive until moraine camp where is tunnel of Punta Olimpica.

Itinerary

Very early in the morning around approx. 3:30am. We will pick you up from your hotel then depart from Huaraz to north side passing by several small villages, such as Jangas, Marcara, Carhuaz, Silla, then by nice valley of Ulta then after two hours drive we will arrive to Punta Olimpica 4850m. zig-zag wonderful view, then arriving to the tunnel a little to climb up moraine camp ( The climb starts from the left of the tunnel) then climb up an unmarked rocky trail and over moraine rock steep in one hour arrive to glacier where we will put on our climbing equipments harnes, crampons, helmet then we start to climb up, in one hour we will reached the Mateo top after the enjoy the beautiful views of the mountains and take pictures then descend by the same route, in the parking our private car will be waiting for us then drive to Huaraz arriving around 5:00pm.
